I will never forget how Dr. Daigre saved my grandson´s life. He was nine months old and came down with spinal meningitis. That was in 1980. He is now 45 years old and the family has experienced several wonderful moments with him because of Dr. Daigre. Thank you Dr. Daigre. I know that you are in heaven for being the person you were and the lives that you save. Dorothy Bernard

He was retiring from private practice when I began working at Lourdes, but I got to know him through his work as a hospice physician. One of the kindest and most gracious men that I have ever met. It was a blessing to have known Dr. Daigre.

I have only admiration and eternal thanks for the gift of John Daigre Jr. who saved the life of our son, Benjamin (Benjy) L. Davis, born December 1, 1983, when we lived in Lafayette. He was our devoted pediatrician who lived only two blocks away. When Benjy was born, he would not nurse or eat consistently, lost weight, and was not thriving. The testing yielded no diagnosis except "failure to thrive." Dr. Daigre worked tirelessly to save his life. On at least a couple occasions he walked to our home to relieve two emotionally exhausted parents, Laura and me, so we could go out for dinner. I cannot sing his praises too strongly. Our warmest condolences to and for his family. Amos H. Davis (8/10/2024)

Dr Daigre was our family pediatrician for all three of our sons. Our middle son, Marion, was severely disabled and Dr Daigre was there for his birth and throughout his life. He was a rock and always generous with his time and support. We stayed in touch over the years and he was so happy with his art work in retirement. Our hearts are full as we recall the love and devotion he gave to the community.

My sincere sympathies on the loss of your loved one, Dr. John Daigre. Our paths crossed at NuNu's Arts & Culture Collective in Arnaudville where we shared a love for folk art. I have some of his pieces. Such a kind and interesting person who loved his community.
