The Spayde Family:
My family are sadden to here of your lost of your loving son. Cleve was in our eyes a loving, caring and respectfully person. God has a plan for all of us and Cleve's was completed. He leaves a lot of broken hearts, but in my family's eyes we cherish a lot of good memories of Cleve. We left the neighborhood a few years ago,and we left some good friends. Our boys grew up together in good times and bad. Always remember none of us are perfect, only our havenly father. The strength comes from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Spayde family there is lots of love and prayers from our family, because we are going through a trial of our own. Our granddaughter Kayla was shot at the 4th of July Fireworks on the levee in Baton Rouge and we know Cleve had her in his heart, because that is the person he was.
If there is anything we do to comfort you , please let us know. Carolyn I miss our friendship (Judy Cambre)

My Prayers are with the family members, as I just met Cleve 2 weeks ago. He met my strong handshake with the same, except stronger. He appeared to me as a very motivated, joyful, & loving individual, after introducing myself & only talking for a few minutes with him. I was absolutely shocked, and am very sorry for this family's loss. I had my Pastor make mention of him & he & the Church said a congregational Prayer for him & his family (whom I have not met, but would like to). Like I said, we only met in passing, but it was a pleasure to meet him. Now, 2 weeks after meeting him, he is gone, and I realize how short & precious life can be. I would like Cleve's wife to contact me by email, and then by phone so we can talk.

Do not stand at my grave and weep:
I am not there,
I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain,
When you awaken in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there I did not die.

This poem (author unknown) has comforted me during difficult times and I hope that it will do the same for you all also. I grew up with Cleve and lived a few streets down on Gloria Dr. I have some really great memories and I will cherish them forever. I will never forget his gorgeous smile that could light up a room. I haven't seen him in several years, but just talked to him and looked forward to meeting his wife and his beautiful son. He really grew up to be quite a wonderful man. My prayers and deepest sympathy are with all that loved him.

There are times in our lives when words just aren't enough. It is in these times that we find our strength in the love of our friends, families and even strangers who may have gone through similar experiences. It is with great sympathy that our family's heart goes out to yours. There is no pain any greater than the loss of a child. My heart goes out to Cleve's parents, and to the rest of his family and friends.God bring you peace and comfort in this time of great loss.

I will remember Cleve as a great cousin who loved to hunt and fish and who has gone too early. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in Baton Rouge. I wish I could have been there with you, but our brand new addition makes that very difficult. I am grieving here in Halifax as you are in Louisiana.

My heartfelt sympathy to Cleve's loving family. I grew up right next door to Cleve, and every memory I have of him makes me laugh. I had many adventures growing up with Cleve. In high school, there were several times when he took care of me like an older brother would have. It pains me to not be there for his services. All my love & prayers to everyone who loved Cleve.
