Marlene Conran Obituary

Marlene Dieckmann Conran, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15th, 2023. Marlene taught 6th grade in the EBRP school system for 20 years. She was a voracious reader and had a passion for lifelong learning. After retirement, she and Jack traveled the world for many years. She enjoyed her time volunteering for St. Vincent de Paul and the Friends of the LSU Libraries Book Barn. Our family is very grateful for the meaningful friendship she shared with Herb Dyer. Marlene is survived by her daughters, Karen Conran Hippard (Scott), Jean Conran Domingues, Julia Conran McBride (Robert); grandchildren, Lauren Weber (Blake), Lane Domingues, Allen Domingues III, Fenton McBride, Greta McBride; great grandchildren, Noah, Penelope and Remi; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack Thomas Conran; parents, Herbert Gercken Dieckmann and Harriet Martin Dieckmann; and her sister, Dorothy Douglas. Visitation will be held Friday, January 20th 2023, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government St. Baton Rouge, LA 70808).
