Mavis Yvonne DeLee Sharp

Mavis Yvonne DeLee Sharp, a resident of Baton Rouge, died on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at her home. She was 91 years old. Visitation will be at Clear Creek Church, Hwy. 432 in Felixville, on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10 am until service at 11 am conducted by Pastor Ryan McKnight. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery, Felixville. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Yvonne Sharp and husband, Bill Wicker. Her son, Dean DeLee Sharp and wife, Sandy. Grandchildren, Rebecca Yvonne Law and husband, Cody, and Dylan Dean Sharp. Great-grandchildren, Lillian Grace Law and Jace Keith Law. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Sharp, parents, Augustus and Lillie DeLee, brothers, Willie, Spencer, A.W., Elvis and Archie DeLee and sisters, Lillie Mae Harvey, Minnie Abrams, Hazel Hurst, Bonnie Eckert, Vera Doughty, Marie Kendrick and Colleen Hanks. Pallbearers will be Jack Hanks, Mark DeLee, Dylan Sharp, Cody Law, Johnny Kling, and Arnold DeLee. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Roger Hurst, Linwood Kendrick, Tommy Kendrick, and Wayne Harvey. Mavis was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1953 and D-Jay's Cosmetology Institute. She had a great character of determination and work ethic. Amidst her lifelong career as an A-Class homemaker, she worked as a switchboard operator, a hair stylist and then secretary for Commercial Tire Company where she met the love of her life. She later worked in professional food catering with Ashley Manor. Mavis was a member of Clear Creek Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved cooking and sharing recipes with family and friends and was published in her local newspaper and several cookbooks. Mavis also had a passion for music, dancing and playing UNO!
