I personally did not know Mike that well ... I know that he was married (for many years) to my cousin Chris for who i have kept in touch sporadically over the years typically regarding the well being of her uncle. And from these brief and ongoing communications I know this ... Mike was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather ... what more is there in life than this ... Also, intuitively i knew more recently from Christine's e-mails that he was a man who lived and died with tremendous courage .... rest in peace. Kent

Chris, I'm so sorry to hear about Mike. He was a great man. The Berlinger and Campo family each have 6 children, and many of us were the same age. I sang with Mike and Anne in the Clear Lake Choir. He had the most beautiful voice...Judy Gast and I were talking this fall when we heard Mike was sick about him singing "Knocking on Heaven's Door." He sang it better than any versions I could find online or on youtube! I know this is a very hard time for you and your family, but know that all of the Campo family in Austin, Pearland, and Beaumont are praying for you and your family. May he rest in peace. Love and prayers for your family are being shared by two prayer groups in Austin...one at St. Theresa Catholic Church and one at St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School, where I now teach. Take care,
Ann Marie Campo Girardot
