Ora Lee Jackson "MaDear" Cain

Ora Lee Jackson Cain, was a resident and native of Baton Rouge, LA. She passed away from her earthly life into the presence of the Lord while surrounded by her family at her home on Thursday, May 28, 2015. She was born Feb. 3, 1927 to the union of Harvey Jackson and Ophelia Scott Jackson; and was 88-years-old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thad Cain; two sons Sidney and Alvin and a grandson, Thad Cain Smith. She was a member of the St. Luke Baptist Church for 63 years and served many years as a deaconess; at her death was under the leadership of Pastor Johnathan Chambers. She is survived by her children, Rudy Cain, Arlene C. Smith Sanders, Madeline Cain, Rose Cain, Ophilia C. Dunn; a daughter-in-law, Gloria L. Cain; a sister, Irene J. Williams; 15 grandchildren, Anita, Ora, Jessica; Ernest Jr., Shantell, Candyce, ; Chad; Koty, Ashley, Ezekiel, Alvin, Jr.; Natasha; Trent, Harvey, Autumn; 25 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren. Visitation at St. Luke Baptist Church, 16262 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA; Sun., May 31 from 5-9 pm and funeral service Mon., June 1 at 10:00 am officiated by Pastor Chambers.
