Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Broussard for Paul Hubert Sarradet, 88, who died on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Brusly at 402 South Kirkland Drive, Brusly, Louisiana 70719 on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 1:30 PM. Reverend Matthew P. Lorrain, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly, will conduct the graveside services. Reverend Andrew Schumacher, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau, will be the Celebrant of the Mass. Lectors will be Kyle Sarradet, Alissa Talbot and Marissa Darr. Giftbearers will be Hannah Sarradet and Hailey Sarradet. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley McDaniel Sarradet; eight children, Gary Sarradet and wife Beverly, Sheryl Cress and husband David, Kyle Sarradet and wife Elizabeth, Karen Hollis and husband Mark, Kay Darr and husband Bill, Rollin Sarradet and wife Yvonne, Dale Sarradet and wife Paola, Brendan Sarradet and wife Deborah; twenty grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Rollin Sarradet and wife Dot and Earl Sarradet and wife Mary Janice; sister, Rosemary Babin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iris Fleniken Sarradet and Joseph Aman Sarradet; daughter, Maria Allison Sarradet Cerce; three brothers, Jack Sarradet, Clay Sarradet, and Donald Sarradet. Mr. Paul honorably served his country in the United States Army. During his free time, he enjoyed spending time outside growing tomatoes, being on the water fishing, cherished moments spent at his family farm in east Texas, gatherings with his family for special occasions, but most importantly, his first love was his loving wife and nine children. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's Southside location on Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday at 9:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Sharee Hunter. Memorial contributions can be made in Paul's name to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
