Pierre Adley Gaudet

A resident of Bayou Pigeon and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Bayou Sorrell Locks, he died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge. He was 96 and a native of Pierre Part. He was the oldest World War II veteran in Iberville Parish, having served in the U.S. Army with the rank of sergeant. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Friday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Joey Angeles. Interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by his three daughters, Sharon Gaudet and husband Clayton Hebert Jr., Ronda Gaudet and husband Brian Sears, and Sheila Rose Hebert and husband Ronnie Templet; son, Adley Charles Gaudet and companion Debi Erickson; two sisters, Levy Theriot and husband Roy, and Eunice Gaudet; three grandchildren, Janna Hebert McAlexander and husband Ryan McAlexander, Clayton Hebert III and fiancée Erica Crawley, and Dani Nicole Champagne; four great-grandchildren, Marissa McAlexander and Jonathon McAlexander, Clayton "C.J." Hebert IV, and Makayla Nichole Hebert; 13 stepgrandchildren, Brittany, Ashley and Breanna Sears, Brandon, Drew, Hallie and Cheyanne Erickson, Evan Matheny, Monique Kling, Toye Gaspard, and Eric, Griff and Quinn Templet; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Narcisse and Olivia Daigle Gaudet; wife, Pauldine "Sis" Marie Felps Gaudet; son-in-law, Davis Hebert; two sisters, Edna Dupre and Aime Berthelot; and four brothers, Kirvin Gaudet, Edwin Gaudet, Medric Gaudet and J.P.
