Robert M Krushensky

1937 - 2023

Robert M Krushensky, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Alpine California on August 29, 2023.
Robert, better known as Bob, was born on July 11, 1937, to Louis and Agnes Krushensky in Dickinson, North Dakota. When Bob was 10 years old his family moved to Montana where many of the Krushensky families live today. Bob joined the U.S. Navy on January 17, 1956. He was sent to train in San Diego. He served his active duty on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bennington as a jet fueler. While in San Diego he met Winnie Brown. They married in 1963 and lived in several different places in San Diego before settling down in Alpine, California in 1972, where they raised their family and Bob lived out his life.
Bob learned the trade of painting houses, got his Contractor's License and started his own business called Krushensky's Painting Co. in 1966. His business was very successful and well known in San Diego due to his skills, quality of craftsmanship and his fun-loving nature.
When Bob semi-retired he spent his time boating, fishing, hunting, building his dream lake house, riding quads, motorcycles and snow mobiles. He also enjoyed doing small jobs here and there, watching westerns over and over….., collecting antiques, listening & dancing to country western music. Often, he'd be sleeping in the sun, teasing grandkids, telling jokes, pulling pranks, being a dare devil and playing with his dog.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Louis and Agnes, stepmother Lorna, brothers, Herbert, George, Raymond and Arnold, Sister Laura and his dog Buddy. He is survived by Winnie, and his children - Gwen, Randy, Jamie, Bob and Laura, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, his brother Daniel, half sister Mary, many nieces, nephews, cousins around the United States and his beloved dog, Bullet.
Bob was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all. Love you, Dad!
Services will be held at Shadow Mountain Community Church at 3520 Alpine Blvd., Alpine CA, 91901 on September 16, 2023, at 11:00 am.
