David Burke Obituary

David Edward Burke (September 2, 1974 - August 8, 2025).
David Edward Burke passed away on August 8, 2025, at Atrium Navicent Hospital in Macon, Georgia, at the age of 50, surrounded by his family.
Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, David was raised in Augusta and Appling, Georgia. He graduated from Harlem High School in 1993.
David had a lifelong passion for motors and electronics...cars, motorcycles, boats, and stereo systems...and possessed a remarkable ability to repair almost anything. A talented mechanic with a love for speed and adventure, he was known for his generous spirit and larger-than-life presence.
He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Burke Collington; his mother, Debra Burke Sussman; his stepfather, William Joseph Sussman; his brother, Robert Sussman; and his sister, Sarah Sussman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Erin Sussman, in 2021. David is laid to rest beside Erin, their bond as siblings enduring beyond this life.
A funeral service was held on August 11, 2025, at Westover Cemetery in Augusta, Georgia, with Reverend Sonny Jones of Appling officiating.
David will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

I am so very sorry for your loss. David and I were school friends and used to be boyfriend and girlfriend in 8th grade. I have lots of fond memories of Big Bird. I pray for his family to find peace and comfort in this difficult time.
