Hazel Dewberry Obituary
Hazel was born in Colliers, South Carolina. She worked her way up in banking starting at Georgia Railroad Bank, Wachovia, Wells Fargo and retiring after 40 years from First Union, where she was a Vice President. Hazel and Hickey were well known for their gatherings at the lake and their full moon pontoon parties.
Family members include her son: Michael J. Dewberry; grandsons: Bryant Dewberry (Haley) and Kyle Dewberry (Sam); great grandchildren: Aubrey, Tullin and Hilsman Dewberry; brothers: Morris Prescott (Lavonia) and the late Randolph Prescott (Shirley); adopted daughter: Michelle Ashe; and many extended family members. In addition to her husband, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alva Prescott.
A Mass will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Tim McKeown as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 4921 Columbia Road, Grovetown, GA 30813 or to Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity, 3112 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30907.

My first banking experience when I got out of college and returned to Augusta was with Hazel. She was a gracious and caring lady. I am sorry for your loss.
