Marion Luckey Obituary

Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, January 12, 2024, Marion Lee Luckey, Jr., 80, loving husband of 55 years to Ann Hydrick Luckey.

Lee was born February 28, 1943, in Greensboro, NC. He was a Lifelong resident of the Augusta area. He proudly served in the Unites States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a certified public accountant for forty years.

Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Jennifer Luckey Whatley and husband David Whatley; grandchildren: Katie Avery, Reece Whatley, Madeline Avery and David Neil Whatley, Jr.; brother-in-law: Robert F. Harter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Everette and Gail Hydrick and sister-in-law: Linda Street. He was preceded in death by his father: Marion Lee Luckey; mother: Gussie O'Quinn Luckey; daughter: Kimberly Luckey Avery; son-in-law: Danny Avery; sister: Lynne Luckey Harter and brother-in-law: Tommy Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Bob Woodruff Foundation, 1350 Broadway, Suite 905, New York, NY 10018 or to the Golden Harvest Food Bank, 3310 Commerce Drive, Augusta, Georgia 30909

The family will receive friends for a celebration of life on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. Buriel will be private. Please sign the guestbook at www.thomaspoteet.com.
