Paul Hiers Obituary
An Augusta native, Bill attended Augusta College and played on the basketball team. He was a long-time real estate broker former top sales agent with Remax. Bill also previously served as a Richmond County Commissioner. He was a loyal University of Georgia football fan.
Family members include his children: Natalie Hiers Cooley (Brian), Phillip William Hiers, Candace Hiers Riddle (Mike), Christopher Evans Hiers; grandchildren: Adam Bussey, Alexis Bussey, Skye Riddle, Jordan Giffe and Reese Giffe (Katie); great-grandchild: Hudson Giffe; niece: Mitzi McCoy; and longtime companion: Alice Varney. Bill was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Corinne Hiers; and his sister: Mary H. Williams.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

Bill was a member of the Gaudy Wahlies, a golfing and social group who were all friends of Phil Wahl. Bill and I played golf together many times and I always enjoyed his company, his big smile and laughter. He was always fun to be with and know that he will be missed by all members of that group.

Bill was a fine guy whom I enjoyed knowing while we competed in Real Estate. I always enjoyed working with him when we had a sale together, he my listing or me his listing. Back in the day of doing the right thing for our customers and clients. He will be missed by so many.
