Ferdinand “Fred” Locantore 92, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on November 12, 2024, in Crofton, MD with his loving family by his side. He was born in Bronx, NY, on November 6, 1932 to Frank P. Locantore of Genoa, Italy and Helen M. Locantore (Horne) of East Berlin, Germany. Fred worked as an electrical engineer at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory from 1952 until he retired in 1992. Fred was a dedicated father, grandpa, great grandpa and husband to Jean Mildred Locantore (deceased) for 65 years. He was devoted to his children and their families, daughter Peggy Wrightson (deceased), husband Phil (deceased) and grandson Jason Wrightson (deceased),daughter Linda Macpherson, husband Bruce and grandson Bradley Macpherson, Son Michael Locantore (deceased), wife Anita and grandchildren Allan Locantore, Amber Johnson, Nicole Wagner and Vinny Scali, His great grandchildren Taylor Locantore, Gracie and Landon Johnson, Brooke Wagner and Jasper Macpherson. Fred enjoyed Hunting and crabbing. He and his wife enjoyed cruising and vacationing. For the last 15 months Fred found much joy and love with his new family at Spring Arbor of Crofton Assisted Living, while joining in with every activity possible, bingo, Uno, exercise and even lunch dates. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
