Gary Milton Hudson

Gary Milton Hudson, 81, of Sykesville died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center. He was born on September 7, 1943, in Sykesville, MD to the late William S. Hudson, Sr. and Anna Virginia Brightful Hudson. He was a devoted husband to Genevieve Hudson. Gary born and raised in Sykesville, attended and graduated from the Robert Moton School. He was a life long member of White Rock IME Church, Sykesville and a life member of the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department. He was a member of the Former Students and Friends of Robert Moton School. He was fun loving, enjoyed cooking and baking and was known to embellish the truth. He liked to joke saying he was Hawaiian and referred to himself as the grave digger as he took care of the church cemetery for many years. Gary also enjoyed dancing and was known for his "James Brown Shuffle". His family was always at the center of his life. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter Rena Hudson; grandchildren Keenan Hudson and Jillian Hudson; brother William Hudson, Sr. and wife Joyce and sister Anna Regina Colbert and husband William of Cumberland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Maura Latisha Hudson. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will follow at 11am.
