Joann Malle Obituary
Joann "Jo" (Schultz) Malle, 74 of Crownsville, Maryland, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at UPMC- Western Maryland. She was surrounded in her last days and hours by family and loved ones.
Born October 8, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Joseph Schultz and Frances (Faugermann) Schultz.
Jo was a graduate of Northeast High School, Pasadena, Maryland. She retired from US Airways maintenance, BWI Airport shortly after September 11, 2001.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Jo was a beautiful person inside and out. She loved her family and friends more than anything. She had many interests to include bowling, she bowled in many leagues over the years. She traveled through the states to attend bowling tournaments and gained may lifelong friends. She enjoyed playing BINGO on a weekly basis. She was an avid corn hole player, visiting different casinos and had a love for movies. She had quite the collection of VHS and DVDs that friends and neighbors would borrow. She had a love for music and going to concerts with anyone that would go.
Jo loved her hometown sports, she was a devoted fan of the Ravens and Orioles. She loved motorsports, NHRA and NASCAR. Her and Ronnie traveled to many NHRA drag races in the motorhome. Jo and Ronnie loved camping in the motorhome and participating in car shows with their street rods. They gained many lifelong friends being part of the street rod scene.
Jo and Ronnie threw epic summer pool parties, that in some cases would last the entire weekend. In addition, they hosted numerous back yard weddings.
Jo has numerous friends and people she considered family. There are so many that she cherished we would not want to exclude anyone. Her ABG group she adored and cherished. As she spent the last 21 months in Cumberland, she gained another group of individuals that she considered family.
In addition to her parents Jo is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Malle and son-in-law Mike Tallman and granddaughter Catlin Hargett. She is survived by her children- Ellen Roberts, Robert Hargett (Tasha), Duane Malle, Danielle Malle, Jennifer Malle. Brother Jody Schultz (Alesia). Grandchildren- Michael Raphael, Dominic Rosso, Joshua Roberts(Abigail), Kaylee Hargett, Mikey Tallman, Breanna Malle, Cameron Malle. Great grandchildren- Addy Pannkuk, Alice Rashell and Knox Roberts. Honorary great grandchildren- Atlas Cramer and Grayson Green. Niece- Sarah Schultz. Special aunts and cousins.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the nurses at UPMC- Western Maryland-Cardiovascular Unit for their care, kindness and compassion as they cared for our mom. We are forever grateful to Elisa for her compassion. In addition, we express our gratitude to Potomac Valley Hospital – Infusion Center staff for making her infusion experience very pleasant for the last 10 months.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Stallings Funeral Home where funeral services will take place that evening at 8:00 pm. A burial will take place at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032 on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 2:30pm.
