John Tracey Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Franklin Tracey Jr., a cherished husband, father, son, brother, and friend. John passed away at the age of 48 on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He was born on Thursday, December 23rd, 1976 in Baltimore, Maryland. John is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Tracey; his daughters, Emily Tracey and Elizabeth Dedo, along with her fiancé Bradley; and his son, Michael Dedo, his devoted mother, Carrie Joe Tracey; his brother, Dustin Tracey; He was preceded in death by his sister, Gwen Tracey, his aunt Sandra Nothey, his uncle Bill Baierlein, and Dominic Price An alumnus of Ft. Meade High School, John dedicated over two decades of his professional life as a skilled steamfitter with Local 602 Union, where he was highly respected among his peers. John also served honorably in the U.S. Army during Operation Iraq Freedom, exemplifying his unwavering commitment and service to his country. Beyond his professional and military achievements, John was a man of varied interests and passions. He was a proud member of the Stoney Creek Gun Club and was well-known in the community for his love of crabbing. John was a super fan of Ravens football known as the "Raven Lunatic". John's nurturing spirit was evident in his love for gardening, baking, and most importantly, in his care for his family. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 25th and 26th, 2025 at Stallings Funeral Home where funeral services will held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 9:30 am. Interment immediately following at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD. John's legacy as a dedicated family man, a passionate member of his community, and an individual of integrity and warmth will forever be remembered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
