It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marlena J. Jones, who left us peacefully on February 4, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on May 22, 1952, in Maryland.
Marlena's warmth and joy were evident in every aspect of her life. She found happiness in simple pleasures-scrapbooking cherished memories, completing jigsaw puzzles, and attending concerts that filled her heart with music. A true hostess at heart, she had a special gift for organizing the most memorable picnics which brought together family and friends to celebrate life's precious moments.
As an instructional assistant at Berkshire Elementary, Marlena was more than an educator-she was a source of encouragement, laughter, and camaraderie. She took pride in organizing social events which fostered a sense of community among her colleagues. Those who worked alongside her described her as a bright light, someone who left a lasting impact on their lives.
Her favorite flower, the daisy, reflected her sunny disposition and the kindness she shared so freely.
Marlena leaves behind her beloved husband, Gary Jones; her children, Tiffany Ginski (husband Mark) and Brandon Jones (wife Kristen), Grandmother to Olivia Ginski, Emma Ginski, Luke Ginski, Bradley Jones, Brooke Jones, and Blake Jones. Sister to Roberta Rytter (husband Larry). She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In honoring Marlena's life, a public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Friday February 7, 2025, from 3:00 - 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on Saturday February 8, 2025, at 9:30 AM, also at Connelly Funeral Home. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
