Thomas Allman Obituary

Thomas M. Allman, 72, Brownstown, died at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at IU Medical Center, Indianapolis. He was born April 30, 1938 in Jackson County to the late J. C. and Vesta McCory Allman. On July 18, 1958, he married the former Virgie Brock in Seymour, and she survives. He was employed at Kieffer Paper Mill for 33 years, retiring in 1985. He established the Tom Allman and the Country Ramblers band that performed for 35 years and was the owner of Tom Allman Racing. He was a member of Easyville Pentecostal Church, Eagles Lodge 655 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 of Seymour. He enjoyed racing, fishing, watching NASCAR races and playing music with his friends. Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Stacey) Allman of Brownstown and Jerry (Shannon) Allman of Seymour; a daughter, Debbie (Tim) Lynch of Seymour; a brother, Maurice "Beech" (Mary) Allman of Brownstown; two sisters, Jean Pogue of Brownstown and Janet (Chester) Goss of Freetown; eight grandchildren, Amberly (Brandon) Schroeder, Brittaney Lynch, Justin (Angela) Darlage, Brandon (Amanda) Allman, Paige Allman, Chandra Allman, Cody Bearden and Baleigh Allman, and three great-grandchildren, Cole Darlage, Kinsley Schroeder and Kamady Hunnicutt. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin "Bub" Allman and J. C. Allman, Jr. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 9, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Rev. Jean Pogue officiating. Burial was in the Smallwood Cemetery. Memorials may be designated to Easyville Pentecostal Church.
