Louise Dewey Obituary

Louise A. Dewey, 86, of Brighton, was born July 21, 1929, in DeKalb, Ill., to Niles P. Clase and Ellen J. (Johnson) Clausen. She passed away peacefully at home in Brighton on March 20.
Louise grew up on the family farm near Cortland, Ill., with two brothers and three sisters and graduated from Maple Park High School in Maple Park, Ill., in 1947. She attended Northern Illinois State Teachers College in DeKalb for one year. In 1949 moved to Colorado to begin a career as an X-ray technician at Colorado General Hospital. She met her future husband, Jack Dewey, while working at the hospital. They married April 14, 1951. Louise's husband of 56 years passed away Feb. 11, 2007.
She is survived by her four children, Wayne (Oy) Dewey, Barbara Valenzuela, Jill and Marty; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and four siblings, Mary Ellen Ikler, Barbara (Dick) Pearson, Dick Clausen and Carol Click.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; one brother, Niles B. Clausen; son-in-law, Dave; and great-grandson, Dustin.
A memorial service was March 305 at the First Presbyterian Church of Brighton. Memorial Contributions may be sent, in Louise's name, to the church, 510 S. 27th Ave., Brighton 80601.
Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
