Doris Fender Obituary
Doris "Dot" Guest Fender, also known as "Mama Fender," 80, of Brunswick, departed this life on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Southeast Georgia Health System.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with Willie Walker Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery, with Ric Guest, Cory Guest, Cory McEntyre, Bill Gunn, Scott Stradtman and Michael Williams serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born January 24, 1945, in Stockton, to the late Lee L. and Margaret J. Guest, she was a homemaker and had been a resident of Glynn County since 1966. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Brunswick. Mrs. Fender enjoyed cooking for family and friends, sewing and fishing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lewis Fender; and two brothers, Truman Guest and Ed Guest.
Survivors include a son, Stacy Fender of Brunswick; a sister, Betty J. Griffis and husband,Terry, of Naylor; several nieces and nephews; and an honorary daughter, Winnie Turoski of Hortense.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, www.edomillerandsons.com, is in charge of the arrangements.

Stacy, we are so sorry for the loss of your Mom. "Dot" was such a sweet, kind, loving, and caring lady, but she was, and has been, such a "fighter" with her medical issues that she's truly an inspiration to others that are going through similar issues. She definitely set the example to never give up.
We shall miss her.
