David Eric Dunn, 54, of Vilonia, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Eric was born on Oct. 28, 1970, to Dovie Jane Dunn and Floyd Llewellyn Dunn in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and he was the youngest of their three children.
He is survived by his sisters, Donna (Brad) Mason of Bentonville and Debbie Tarvin of Little Rock; his nephews, Jesse (Jenee) Hensley, Logan and Roman Mason, Collin and Haydon Tarvin. He is survived by his children, Chalin, Lydia, Ava and Vivian Dunn, plus many relatives and friends.
He attended school in Enola, Arkansas, until the 11th grade and graduated from Oak Grove High School. He completed pre-engineering courses at UCA in Conway. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1998 from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Intelligent and hard-working, his chemical engineering career included Pirelli Tire, Southwestern Energy, Occidental Petroleum and TOLM Group and others. He designed a vacuum distillation system that was patented by Occidental Petroleum and used in operation in West Texas.
Eric was athletic, intelligent and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. He was talented at woodworking, cultivated trees and was a skilled gardener. He was a Christian and spent time in Bible study. He loved music and played bass guitar.
We will miss him, and his love abides in us. He was witty, thoughtful and we'll remember his great smile.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
