Dortha Huckabee Obituary

Dortha Faye Huckabee, 89, of Hope, passed away June 12, 2011, in Hope.
She was born May 13, 1922, in Hempstead County, to J.T. and Ruth Ellen Woodul Cumbie.
She was a retired florist owner, a charter member of St. Johns Methodist Church and one of Hope's original telephone operators.
She is preceded in death by four brothers, J.T., Harold, Ray and Howard Cumbie; and three sisters, Ruth Ann Bruce, Bernice Cumbie and Kathryn Hidy.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Huckabee of Hope; one son, Jim Caudle and wife Zettie of Conway; two daughters, Linda Honea, and Mary Lou and her husband Dr. Mike Downs, all of Hope; eight grandchildren, Jeff Caudle and his wife Kim, Angela Defreitas and her husband Andre, Sunny Honea, Samantha Schwab and her husband Russell, Jacob Honea, John Hooker, Tony Hooker and his wife Holly and Chris Downs and his wife Mary; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Johns Methodist Church in Hope, with Bro. Joe Miller officiating, interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
