Albert J. Avina, 80, of Marina, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015. He was born April 21, 1935.
Albert served in the U.S. Army. He was owner of Angel Food Donut Drive-In and in the past worked for Granite Construction.
He is survived by sons, Michael and Tom Avina; daughter, Lisa Avina-Lopez; four grandchildren; brothers, Richard, Pete, John, Ed and Robert; and sisters, Connie, Lucy, Virginia and Irene; Marciana Valdez and family.
Visitation will be held from 10am to 12noon, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at San Jose Funeral Service, 1050 So. Bascom Ave., San Jose, 408-288-8383.
Memorial services will be held at 12noon Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at San Jose Funeral Service.

Al, "Owl", that's what Lea called you, when she was little. I am glad I had the chance to talk to you a couple weeks before. We will miss you dearly. I have the fondest memories of you visiting us in SoCal. You always bought these delicious tamales from LA when you visited us. Also, rememember how you and Lea had fun together on your stay with us. We will miss you. My heart is heavy because you are no longer with us. Al rest in peace, you will always have a special place in our hearts.
