Amie Denise Miller "Barbie" Vass

Mrs. Amie Denise "Barbie" Miller Vass, 49, of Galax, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday night, April 3, 2021, at CAMC Teays Valley Hospital in Hurricane, WV. Mrs. Vass was born October 21, 1971, in Galax, VA, the daughter of Betty Reeves Miller and the late Dice Miller. Amie was a housewife and a faithful member of Trinity Fellowship Church in St. Albans, WV. She served as a devoted pastor's wife, and she shared her God-given talents as a soloist and worship leader. Additionally, Amie was a gifted interior decorator. Mrs. Vass possessed pure beauty, inside and out, and great inner strength. She and her husband shared a love beyond words, and her family and many friends adored her. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, the Rev. Tommy Lee Vass of the home; a daughter, Breanna Adair Vass of Galax, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Ryan Lee and Melody Vass of Galax, VA; a grandson, Jameson Bailey of Galax, VA; her mother, Betty Reeves Miller of Hillsville, VA; and a brother, Randy Miller of Galax, VA. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 4:00 PM at Mount Airy First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Brian Frazier, the Rev. Josh Holder, and the Rev. Ronald Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Cana Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of the Rev. Ronnie Harris. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:30 until 4:00 PM at the church. Due to public health concerns, attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
