Howard Chrisley Obituary

Howard Ray "Spud" Chrisley, age 69, of Max Meadows, Virginia passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia after a long illness due to Post Polio Syndrome. He was born on February 28, 1946 in Draper, Virginia to the late John Henry and Emma Lou Chrisley. He was preceded in death by his brother Jesse Worrell and sister Mary Helen Asbury.

Devoted loving father, grandpapa and brother is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Brad Williams of Max Meadows, son Jestin Ray Chrisley of Max Meadows. Grandchildren Lauren, Ashley, Ali and Malachi Williams, Cora and Emma Chrisley, siblings and spouses William (Bill) and Barbara Chrisley of Dublin, Chris Chrisley and Chuck Boles of Harrisonburg, Emily and Rick Ancik of Harrisonburg, Darlene and Jeff Davison of Harrisonburg, and several nieces and nephews as well as special friends Dreama and Lacy Bowman, Stephanie Boatman and family.

Spud will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

The family extends gratitude to the staff at Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center of Dublin, Lewis Gale Hospital of Pulaski and Lewis Gale Medical Center of Salem for their compassionate loving care.

Celebration of Life will be held at Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 7 pm officiated Rev. Mike Ingo. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until service begins.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions, may be made in honor of Howard "Spud" Chrisley to Lead Mines Rescue Squad, 1057 Fort Chiswell Road, Max Meadows, VA., 24360 or Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center, 5872 Hanks Ave., Dublin, VA., 24084.

Arrangements are being handled by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski and flowers by Ideal Florist, Hillsville.

To my Dear Family Sherri, Jestin, and Brad,
I pray for the His Peace that passeth all understanding to fill you hearts and minds. Your father was a strong, principled, and brave man. He will be missed. However, no words I have can alleviate your hurt. So, I will remind you of our God's promise and guarantee to us.....Whosoever believes shall have everlasting life.... It's guarantees...You will see him again! Because He lives!

I met Howard after my Dad was put in Highland Ridge Rehab, he always had a smile on his face and a quick hello. I enjoyed seeing him when he was able to sit outside. I am very sorry for your loss, he was a sweet man.
