Charles Hagen Obituary

Charles Jefferson Hagen was born on July 22, 1935, in Aguilar, Colorado, to Charles Hagen and Elise (Carlier) Hagen. He passed away unexpectedly at home on March 29, 2022.
He resided in his Boncarbo home his entire life.
In June of 1954, he married the love of his life, Agnes Janet Struthers, who grew up in the Delagua coal camps.
The early years of their marriage included farming, cattle ranching, custom haying and bulldozer work, as well as cutting timbers ("props") for the Allen Mine and harvesting Christmas trees for sale.
In the mid 1960's he founded H & M Implement Company with his business partner Nick Mangino. The original business was a John Deere dealership along with farm and ranch supplies, and later included a Polaris ATV and snowmobile dealership. His business resulted in many lifelong relationships with his customers throughout southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. Through H & M Implement, Charles made many contributions to the community including purchasing 4-H livestock at the county fair and supporting many conservation causes.
Charles had many outdoor interests but was most passionate about snowmobiling. The family enjoyed many winter trips to Yellowstone Park, Wyoming, and Grand Mesa, Colorado.
Charles also enjoyed gambling, trips to New Mexico with his wife, and the many trips he made delivering equipment to his customers throughout the area.
Charles enthusiastically supported his son and grandsons in their motocross racing endeavors.
Charles was very passionate about his country. He was a strong supporter of the Constitution, and the Second Amendment in particular. He donated to many humanitarian and conservative values causes.
Charles was preceded in death by his father Charles, mother Elise, son Randy, brother Robert Hagen and sister Betty (Hagen) DeCristino, brothers in law Bert Bonfadini and Dominic Milinazzo, and sister-in-law Dorothy Milinazzo, and nephew David Milinazzo.
He is survived by his wife Agnes, sons Jeffrey (Margie Cerame) and Charles, grandsons Dustin Hagen, Brandon Hagen and Franko Cerame (Connie), granddaughters Krystle Hagen and Jami Heiss and son-in-law Bräc, and great grandchildren Caide and Weslynn Heiss.
Charles is also survived by his sister-in-law Sonya Bonfadini, nieces Kimberly Bonfadini, Diana Milinazzo, and Tammy (DeCristino) Lucas, and nephews Daniel (Ann Marie Hadad) Milinazzo and Damon DeCristino.
Kenny Martinez and Diane Berry were very special people in his life.
He will be missed immensely.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 4pm-7pm at the Comi Chapel, at which time condolences can be made.
As per the family a private funeral and graveside service is to be held,
Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
