Everett Demers Obituary

COVENTRY

Everett M. Demers, 49, departed this life on the morning of February 17, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born on a chilly January day in Worcester, MA, a son to the late Donald Demers and Mary Biggs. Along with his two brothers, Everett spent a majority of his youth growing up in Daytona Beach, FL.

In his late twenties, Everett relocated to the Northeast and spent his career of 16 years working for Abel Womack in various roles starting as a forklift mechanic and becoming a Customer Service Manager.

In 2011, Everett met the love of his life, Julie and relocated to Coventry, CT where they married in 2014 and blended their families seamlessly.

During Everett's years in Coventry, he became heavily involved in the community volunteering in baseball, softball and football for youth sports. Everyone in town soon came to know Everett as the man that would drop what he was doing to help in any way possible whether it be as a player agent, a coach, an announcer or working concessions. Through his time coaching baseball, Everett developed a deeper love for the sport and went on to hold the title of District 11 Administrator within the Connecticut State Little League.

Everett's generous nature and faith eventually led him to the Ionic Lodge #110 AF&AM in North Windham where he served as a five-year Mason. He most recently held the title of Senior Warden of the lodge. Everett's Mason brothers knew him as a generous and kind soul with a deep faith in God.

Everett leaves behind the love of his life, Julie Demers. He was a blessed father and step-father to Katie (Shawn Martin), Christian, Samantha (Danny Torres) and Matthew respectively and a doting Grampa to Alisha Harley and Olive Jean. Everett also leaves behind his mother, Mary, his two younger brothers, Scott and Chris as well as his dear Mem, Rita and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Donald and his infant son, Everett Jr.

Everett's family and friends would like to extend their sincere thanks to all those that provided exemplary care for him at the Davita Dialysis Center and Saint Francis Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be hosted the Masonic Lodge in Windham, CT on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. To honor the memory of Everett as a coach, we are asking any players that attend to wear sports attire from their local community sports teams. To honor Everett's memory, pay it forward with kindness and love when ever possible.
