Madeline Tully Obituary
Madeline Matty Tully, 96, of Windham, CT passed away on May 5, 2023 at Douglas Manor. She was born in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Thomas and Frances (Nickolaus) Tully. In 1957, she relocated to Willimantic, CT and spent most of her working life as an accounts manager at Brand Rex. There she acquired many close friends who enjoyed her work dedication and her wonderful sense of humor.
Matty was known as the life of the party and had a way of arousing easy laughter with her crazy antics. In her earlier years, she was an avid bowler and was the editor of her league's weekly newsletter. She was also a talented artist who could produce beautifully accurate and detailed drawings.
She possessed a strong trait of self-reliance and felt she could tackle any project independently, whether she was actually able to or not!
Matty was always devoted to her family, especially to her mother and her many dogs. She leaves behind four nieces and nephews and their spouses: Karen and Bob Olson, Lawrence Kilgus, Fred and Elaine Kilgus, and Theresa and Peter Tourigny, nine great nieces and great nephews, and thirteen great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Frances, Walter, Edward, and Cassie, niece Donna Taylor, and great nephew Tony Kilgus.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with her burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery on Club Rd. Windham, CT.
