Bradley Douglas Obituary

Bradley Alan Douglas, 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 surrounded by family.

He was born on December 25, 1962, in DuBois, PA.

Bradley is survived by his mother, Lorraine Douglas, whom he made his home with for the past 61 years. He is also survived by his sister, Kim Clark and her husband Steve "Bubba," niece Danielle Melillo and her husband Matthew, nephew Dillon Lindenmuth and his wife Stephanie, and his great-niece Emmerson Melillo. He is survived by several aunts, Sandy Tomb and her husband Gordon, Paula Delp and her husband Doug, Georgian Carter and her husband Robert and his uncle, Bill Fortunato and his wife Nancy. He is also survived by numerous cousins.

Brad's love for sports began in 1982 when he became a silver medalist at the National Special Olympics. Brad was honored by his hometown for his accomplishments and was selected the 1983 Grand Marshal of the Brockway July 4th parade.

Brad was a longtime staff member for the Brockway Youth and Jr. High football programs. He also spent many years involved with Brockway Little League. For his contributions, he was named the 2011 Brockway Sportsman of the Year.

Brad was a staple figure at all Brockway sporting events and would often be found in the middle of the Brockway Rover Marching Band.

He continued his love for sports by following the Steelers and his Penn State Nittany Lions.

He loved to fish with his uncles, watch WWE wrestling with his cousin, drink Diet Coke, and had a knack for collecting hats.

Brad was loved by a community who opened their arms and called him family.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Armando and Violet Fortunato.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024 from noon until 3 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A private funeral service will be held.

Although flowers are appreciated, in honor of Brad's love of Brockway, the family would be grateful if donations be made to the We Care Fund at Brockway Elementary. Checks may be made payable to the Brockway Area School District/We Care Fund, 40 North St., Brockway, PA 15824. Hi Lorraine and Kim,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family. Unfortunately, I'm out of the country and won't be able to make it to the funeral. So, I thought I would share a few thoughts.

Brad was one of those people who made the world a better place. He was always quick with a story from the old days (he forgot nothing) and was one of the most loving people I ever met. I like to think Brad is with Aunt Violet, Uncle Army, and the rest of the Miller crew, talking about old times and driving each other just a "little crazy."=-)

I have not seen Brad that much over the years, but I was always glad to know he was there. I will miss him.

May God rest his soul,

Mark
