Darrell Shafferman Obituary

Darrell Shafferman, 86, of Knoxdale, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on May 25, 1931 in Grafton, W.Va., a son of the late John and Dacie (Weaver) Shafferman.
Mr. Shafferman served in the United States Army.
On March 1, 1959 he married the former Nancy Lee Anne Fullmer. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2012.
Darrell worked as a chemist in research and development at US Steel in Pittsburgh. Following his retirement he and his wife moved to Knoxdale.
He is survived by four children, Melany Brosius and husband Stanley of Brookville, Darrell Shafferman and wife Gina of South Carolina, Darren Shafferman and wife Sheri of Pittsburgh, and Derrick Shafferman of Knoxdale; four grandchildren: Cathy Nuckels, Stanley Brosius, Jr. and wife Amanda, Shane and Sara Shafferman; six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents; a daughter, Sharyl Casella; and three brothers, John, Raymond and Harold Shafferman.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until noon, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at noon at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Harold Hills.
Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Knoxdale.
