Deborah Bickerdyke Obituary

Deborah Louise (Fields) Bickerdyke, born in Ridgway, Pennsylvania on Aug. 9, 1951, passed away on June 16, 2023, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, with her loving family surrounding her, providing comfort and support.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 23 years, David Bickerdyke, her son, Larry Huey Jr. (Michele), her daughters, Tona Hermsen and Jennifer Cogan (Jonathan), and her cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Huey Jr., Andrew Cogan (Victoria), Cheyene Hicks, Jimmy Hermsen, Alyssa Cogan, Amber Rowland, and Kristorfer Chisolm. She also leaves behind a great-grandson, James Cogan.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Norma Jean Fields and Horace Fields, as well as her son Jeffrey Huey Sr., her sister Jacqueline Cocco (Fields), and her brother Raymond Fields. She is also mourned by her sisters, Anne Constitine, Cheryl Fields, and Jeanine Fields, along with her brothers, Mark Fields and Mike Fields. Additionally, Deborah is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews whose lives she touched.

Deborah Louise Bickerdyke will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her loving nature, dedication to her loved ones, and the impact she made on those around her will be cherished and remembered always. May she rest in peace.

In lieu of funeral services, the family will hold a heartfelt remembrance event at a future time.

This was the day my life was changed forever. What you have brought into my life I could never repay, the love we have between us can never be lost & will carry you in my heart for the rest of my life. You were my rock & was always there when i needed you & I will forever have lost a part of me to heaven. I love you my sweetheart & look forward to the day that we will meet again & carry our love on until eternity.
