Edna Reiter Obituary

Edna Rachel Reiter, 91, of Curwensville, passed away Saturday morning, October 20, 2018 in Curwensville.
Born February 23, 1927 in Sykesville, she was the daughter of Harry and Twila (Zufall) Buhite. She along with her husband had co-owned Curwensville Florist from 1948 through their retirement in 1988.
She was a member of the Curwensville First Baptist Church where she had served as co- church treasurer, missionary secretary, ladies and children ministries and the church choir. She was also a member of the GFWC Woman's Club of Curwensville and the former Rhoda Rebekah Lodge of Curwensville.
On February 25, 1948 in a double wedding service with her husband's sister and fiancée, in the Bethel Baptist Church in Sykesville, Pa., she wed Glenn E. Reiter who preceded her in death on July 10, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Austin Tkacik; sisters: Mary, Annabel, Dorothy, Mabel and Grace; and brothers: Raymond, Harold, Luther and Robert, and an infant sibling.
Surviving are four children: Kenneth L. Reiter of Clearfield, Susan F. Lezzer and husband Dennis and Ronald G. Reiter and wife Mary Kay both of Curwensville and Timothy S. Reiter of Coatesville.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Holly Tkacik and husband John, Joseph Reiter and wife Rachel, Charles Banas and wife Wendy, Heidi Bloom and husband Andy, Andrew Reiter and wife Brooke, Kayla Reiter and Alicia Wischuck and husband James; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Geneva Knarr of Punxsutawney.
In addition, she is survived by three sisters-in-law: Dolores Harris of Indian Trail, N.C., Gloria Buhite of DuBois and Barbara Buhite of Sykesville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Reiter will be held at the Curwensville First Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 1 p.m., with the Reverend Daniel Osterhout officiating. Interment will be in the Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. in Curwensville on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the church on Wednesday from 12 Noon until time of services at 1 p.m.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Curwensville First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 312, Curwensville, PA 16833-0312.

Miss Edna was a wonderful lady. I knew her for a long time with my children delivering papers to them. She will be miss by many.
