Gerald Willaman Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Willaman of Medix Run, PA, passed away April 19, 2024 at the age of 82.

Born November 18, 1941, in Greenville, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Martha (Ramsey) Willaman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dean Willaman.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sherry (Bellas) Willaman, and many loving family members.

Jerry and Sherry owned and operated The Medix Hotel from 1977 until 1999. The hotel would be Jerry's legacy. He enjoyed snow skiing, dirt bikes, and the outdoors, but more than anything, Jerry enjoyed meeting people and made so many friends at the hotel.

After the hotel, Jerry held the position of Benezette Twp Supervisor for a period of time. Jerry was a politically active person.

He later became an independent contractor for USPS for 24 years where he acquired many more friends who became his extended family.

A Celebration of Life for Jerry will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at the Fine Line Event Center, 429 N. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, PA, 15857. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in DuBois, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hudson Valley Rottie Rescue.

I did not know Jerry well at all. Sherry and I were school friends and distant over the years. Moves and circumstances can separate friendships, BUT NEVER destroy them. Sherry and Jerry were generous to have 3 of us up at Medix Run, for the weekend. We all had such a FUN time!!! Over the years, Jerry did something for me, I will NEVER forget. It will always remain a great, considerate memory. One that touched my heart. I wasn't able to attend our High School, 50th reunion. Jerry THOUGHT of me and sent me a beautiful 50th, surprise gift. It is something I will always cherish, along with his THOUGHTFULNESS. Love ALWAYS Sherry...I'll keep in touch. XOXOXO'S Joan

I knew Jerry for years as he picked up the mail at the Brockway Post Office. Always cheerful and had helpful information about one thing or another to pass on. I haven't seen him in quite a while, since I retired. So sorry Sherry. I'm sure you'll be missing him too.

Jerry and Sherry were so nice. I don't think Jerry ever met a stranger; he was kind to all. My deepest sympathy to the family.
