Jacob Popson Obituary

It is with deep sadness to announce the unexpected passing of Jacob "Jake" Henry Popson, age 19, of Brookville, PA, who lost his life as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident, on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Jacob was born on November 4, 2005, in DuBois, PA, the son of Jamie (Delamotte) Popson and the late Joshua Popson, Sr.

To Jake's own amazement, he was a 2024 graduate of Brookville High School in Brookville, PA, "…some of us graduating with honors, and for others it was an honor to graduate, right Jake?" Following high school, he started his working career at various jobs all around the area as a self-contractor, including working with his grandpa sharing the family passion.

Jake was adventurous and up for anything. While he loved hunting, fishing, riding, and demo derby, Jake was so much more. He was constantly found outdoors with his friends or family, always stirring up a little trouble. He poured his heart into everything and everyone around him.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jake considered him a much-loved son, brother, grandson, and friend. This young man was known for his compassionate and energetic nature along with his sense of humor and loyalty to his family and friends. Jake would frequently check in on his family and friends, they meant everything to him.

Jake truly made life fun and would light up every room with his personality. He was known for being a 'jokester and a prankster,' always the life of the party. He just had a way of putting a smile on your face, even if you were yelling at him.

Jake's amazing close circle of friends was also like family. Without a doubt, he would always stand up for them or be there for them in a moment's notice for anything they needed. This family of friends also had genuine hearts, always had his back, and were all loyal to this lifelong friendship they created. Jacob's brief but meaningful time with us has made a lasting impact on those who held him dear, ensuring his memory will live on indefinitely.

Jake is survived by his mother Jamie Popson; his four siblings: twin brother Jared Popson, Josh Popson, Janelle Popson, and Tye Phares, all of Brookville; his grandparents; his closely bonded core group of friends; as well as several extended family.

Jake was preceded in death by his father, Joshua A. Popson; and his great-grandparents.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the First Church of God, 201 Freedom Lane, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. and officiated by Pastor Sam Wilson.

Interment will take place privately. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825.
