Joyce Grant Obituary
Born December 4, 1937, in DuBois. She was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Stella Pearl Shaffer.
Joyce graduated from Sandy High School, worked at BF Goodrich, made golf balls and cleaned various businesses in the DuBois area.
On June 8, 1959, she married Willis "John" Grant, in DuBois, together they enjoyed 58 years of marriage until his passing on October 29, 2017.
Joyce was Methodist by faith, enjoyed fund raisers for Caring & Sharing for Kids and was a member of Wheels of Yesterday Club. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her loving family: Daughter, Kimberely Marie (Byron) Powell of Brookville; sons, Christopher John Grant of State College and Steven Jay Grant of DuBois; two grandchildren, Amber Marie (Tetteh) Lynch of Pittsburgh and Eric John Powell of Brookville; six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Nina Simbeck, Betty Bundy, Carol Lyons; and a brother, Clarence Shaffer, all of DuBois; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant sister, Olive, brothers, Forest, Allan, Glen and Harry, and sisters, Iva, Alice and Vera.
Friends and family will be received at the Adamson Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., with the service beginning at 1 p.m., with LaMarr Adamson CLP officiating. Interment will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Joyce's favorite charity, Caring & Sharing for Kids, PO Box 267, Anita, PA 15711.
