Patricia Lee Shaffer

Patricia Lee Shaffer, 80, of DuBois, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Patty was born on August 29, 1937 in DuBois. She was the daughter of the late Murray J. and Ruth Phillips Ball.

She graduated from Dubois Area High School and was employed at The Avenue Theatre, where she met Clarence H. Shaffer. They married on March 31, 1956, at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church in DuBois.

She was employed at Dealers Finance Company in DuBois and later at Brockway Glass Plant 2. Patty and Clarence owned and operated The Video Outlet stores in DuBois, and St. Mary's.

She was a longtime member of the Ladies of the Lake and the Treasure Lake Book Club.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, watching movies and walking with friends.

Patricia is survived by her children: Kevin C. Shaffer & his wife Denise M., of Treasure Lake, Kathy L. DeLong & her husband Chuck of Reynoldsville, Amanda J. Shaffer of DuBois, and Paula S. Shaffer of Durham NC. She had 10 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Simmons of Fredericksburg, MD.

She was preceded in death by her brother, (Murray D. "Muggs" Ball).

There will be no public visitation.

Friends and family will be able to pay their respects at a celebration of life service and luncheon at the Treasure Lake Church in DuBois on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2 PM. Pastor Dick Whitaker will officiate.

The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
