Richard Duttry Obituary

Richard Reuben Duttry, 67, of Sabula, PA, passed into Jesus' presence on June 28, 2025, after a short illness.

Born on March 3, 1958, Richard was the son of the late Clarence and Emma Duttry. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Randy, and Kevin Duttry, and three sisters, Judy Slack, Cecilia Maluzzo, and Janis Shaffer. He is survived by his brother Doyle (Norma) Duttry of Tipton, PA.

Richard was a beloved husband to Fawn M. Duttry, and a proud father to Matthew J. Courson of North Carolina, Tara (Mark) Martin of Wattsburg, PA, and Risha Duttry of Kuwait. He was "Grump-pa" to three spunky grandsons: Kayden, Gabriel, and Roman Martin. A special nod to Jesse Nelson, his brother-in-law, who was a tremendous support in Richard's final days.

Known for his love of motorcycles and the open road, Richard was most at home on his bike or working on his tractor. He enjoyed time with his garage and poker buddies and loved exploring Arizona and taking road trips with his family.

We can rejoice knowing that Richard had a personal relationship with Jesus. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."- John 3:16-17

A service to celebrate Richard's life will be held on July 3 at DuBois Alliance Church, 1004 S. Main St. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the service at 12 p.m., and a luncheon at 1 p.m.

My dad was my first teacher. He taught me so many things- changing a tire, carpentry, patience. I looked up to him in so many ways and loved him with all my heart. This world will truly be empty without his presence. My conspiracy loving, cryptid hunting, road trip buddy is off learning all of the secrets of the universe now.
