Sharon Lee Malasky

1946 - 2025

Sharon Lee Malasky, 78, of Lincolnton, North Carolina, formerly of DuBois, PA, passed away peacefully August 11, 2025.

Born on December 12, 1946, Sharon Malasky, lovingly known as "Sherry" to family and friends, lived a life defined by love, compassion, and unwavering faith. She was married for 60 wonderful years to her devoted husband, Joseph John Malasky, III, with whom she raised a large and loving family of seven children, 23 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Sharon worked as a registered nurse, dedicating much of her life to the care and comfort of others. Her kindness extended beyond her profession, and she was known for her gentle patience, quiet strength, and the open-hearted way she welcomed everyone into her home. Her talents for cooking, sewing, and crafting brought joy to her family and friends, and she found her greatest happiness in being a mother and a grandmother.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived each day guided by her belief in service, humility, and love. Her faith in the Savoir brought her peace and guided her through the many trials and hardships of life. All who knew her could see she radiated the light of Christ in her countenance and words and deeds.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Malasky, six of her children and their spouses: Joseph Malasky, IV (Ana), Tanya Duttry (Mark), Troy Malasky (Rachel), Mark Malasky (Leah), Shannon Pedersen, Damon Malasky (Amy), and two siblings: Rick Place(Jill) and Darla Barnett (Steve, deceased).

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Byron Malasky, and one grandson, Kirk Anderson. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Elsie Place and her sibling, Larry Place (Candy).

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public viewing.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 105 Old Tram Street in Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois, PA.
