Sue Morris Obituary

Sue Morris, 99, passed away February 15, 2025, at her home in Ellenton, Florida, where she lived with her daughter, Susan Stecker, and sister-in law, Julianne Roman.

Mrs. Morris was born in Punxsutawney, PA on September 22, 1925. She was the daughter of Frank and Rose (Zemel) Cukanna.

She was married to the late Andrew D. Morris and was a longtime resident of Sykesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew D. Morris of Sykesville, PA; and six siblings: Mary Kundrich (Sykesvillle), John Cukanna (Punxsutawney, PA), Helen Stafford (New York), Irene Smee (Harrisburg, PA), Joseph Cukanna (Punxsutawney) and Paul Cukanna (Punxsutawney).

Mrs. Morris was a loving mother and wife and dedicated homemaker. She also worked in housekeeping at the DuBois Hospital for many years. She was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville and the Rosary Society.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great-grandchildren and grand nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed gardening, was an excellent baker and loved animals of all kinds, especially her grand cats. When asked about her longevity, she always said, "Eat all of the different colors of food each day!"

Mrs. Morris is survived by her daughters, Sharleen (George) Berloffa (DuBois, PA), Georgia (Wayne) Tilman (Ellenton, FL) and Susan Stecker (Ellenton, FL and Punxsutawney, PA); two grandchildren, Ann Stecker (Boston, MA), and Dr. Aaron (Andrea) Stecker (Boulder, CO; and two great-grandchildren, Quinn Pippin and Evelyn Astor Stecker.

There will be no public visitation.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. from Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville, PA with Father Nathaniel Tapsak as celebrant.

Burial will be in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

I surely enjoyed all my years cutting Sue´s hair! Helen and Susan were very special to me! I sure did learn a lot of baking and cooking skills! What a breath of fresh air she was! What a great woman of faith! My prayers to the family!
