Clarence "Mike" Michael Schofield, 69, of Fishers passed away Monday, March 3, 2025. He was born Jan. 14, 1956, in New Castle, to the late Clarence R. Jr., and Melba J. (Shafer) Schofield.
Mike was a 1974 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School where he was very active in the New Castle Marching Band. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served for three years. He then returned to New Castle and worked for Ingersoll Steel for several years before joining the U.S. Army National Guard where he later retired.
Music was his passion. Through the years, he had played in various jazz bands and could play nearly every instrument with the trumpet being his favorite. He also enjoyed golfing, and played on the U.S. Army Golf Team.
Mike is survived by his former wife and friend, Glennis Schofield; siblings, Michelle (Dewey) Bryant, Melissa Howell, Mark (Nicole) Schofield and Matt (Susan) Schofield; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Amanda) Bryant, Kole Schofield, Melanie (Ben) Brooks, Peyton and Laney Schofield; and several great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Mike will be buried with his parents at South Mound Cemetery in a private family ceremony where military honors will be provided by contingents from the U.S. Army, American Legion and VFW.
