David Carter Obituary

David Raymond Carter Jr. passed away peacefully on January 03, 2025 in Syracuse, New York.

Born November 04, 1940 in New Castle, Indiana. He was the son of David Raymond Carter and Mina Pearl Carnes.

He graduated from Indiana University School of Business and was a member of the Lambada Chi Fraternity. He was a member of Ingomar Methodist Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

David began his career working at Ingersoll Steel in the metallurgical and sales department, New Castle, Indiana. He later accepted a sales management position with Jessop Steel in Washington Pennsylvania. David retired from Allegheny Ludlum Steel Company Pittsburgh Pennsylvania as a regional sales manager.

While in New Castle he was an active member of the Elks Lodge #484 and the American Legion Golf Club.

David was married to Sheryl Clampitt and had two children, Brian David married to Kristin Loop and Jennifer Lynn Carter married to Roger Mayerson.

Four grandchildren Catherine married to Brian McCan, Aaron Carter, Blake Carter and Megan Carter.

David will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, a dedicated golfer and a friend with a joke to all he met.

A celebration of life and interment will be at New Castle South Mound Cemetery late spring of 2025.
