Denver Louis Vickers, Jr., 67, of Connersville, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 at his residence.
A child of Denver Lewis, Sr. and Gerry Armstrong Vickers, Denver was born September 19, 1965, in Hamilton, Ohio and graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1974.
On January 31, 2010, Denver married the former Elizabeth "Libby" Myers at Spiceland Nazarene Church in Spiceland. Mrs. Vickers survives.
Denver was a union brick layer for many years before his retirement in 2018. In his leisure time, Denver was a very faithful member of Henry County Habitat for Humanity where he built many houses for people in need. Denver was named 2024 Volunteer of the Year. When he wasn't helping those in need, Denver loved to spend time with his family, along with his pet bird, Bongo.
Besides his wife of 14 years, Libby Vickers, survivors include three daughters, Melissa (Lee) Spurgin of Spiceland, Sarah (Arby) Valle of Lakeland, Florida, and Marijo Green of Indianapolis; seven granddaughters, Avie, Delilah, Camrie, McKinlee, Maisyn, Grace, and Twyla, along with another granddaughter on the way; three siblings, Sharon Vickers of Plainfield, Karen Blanton of Oscala, Florida, and Greg (Carina) Vickers of Middletown, Ohio; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Denver is preceded in death by his son, Derrick Ace Vickers; sister, Tonya Vickers; and daughter-in-law, Chasity Vickers.
Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Rodney Barbee will officiate. Burial will follow in Orange Cemetery.
