Millville - Curtis L. Shaffer, Sr., 61, died unexpectedly on August 21, 2018 at home. Curtis was born in Millville to the late Herman and Jean (Risley) Shaffer. He was a retired Sheriff's Officer working in Cumberland County for over 20 years.

He enjoyed working on his '71 Chevy Chevelle, but his most favorite car was a '57 Chevy Bel Air. He liked attending car shows and had a cool collection of Hot Wheels. But he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, cooking and grilling for family and friends.

Curtis is survived by 2 sons: Curtis, II (Stephanie) and Dustin (Ali); 2 daughters: Elizabeth Simpkins (Randy) and Tabitha Heger (Carl); 3 sisters: Darlene Ferus (Don), Beatrice Robbins(Alan) and Vivian Metcalf; 6 grandchildren: Jaylin, Jonah and Lainey Shaffer, Caroline and Kristin Bump and Lucille Simpkins. He was predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Thelma (MacDonald) Shaffer and a grandson, Tristan Bump.

A Memorial service to celebrate Curtis's life will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Second and Smith Streets, Millville at 12 Noon, where family and friends may call from 11 AM in the church. Burial will be private.
