Gary Zimmerman Obituary
Gary Zimmerman 68, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday night December 15, 2020. Born in Cape May Court House, NJ he was the son of the late Augustus and Doris Zimmerman, Sr.
Gary enlisted in the Army immediately out of High School and served for 5 years and was Honorably Discharged. He attended Cumberland County College and received a Associates Degree in Applied Science. He could tell you the name and how to take care of any kind of flower as he worked for wholesale florists Van Dyk Brothers and Pennock Floral.
Gary enjoyed the Mountains, liked to travel, photography, and loved to cook up new recipes. He was proud of his 3 grandchildren, he got to meet his first great-grandchild last year. Before he became ill, he enjoyed attending Maranatha Baptist Church in Millville.
Surviving are his daughter, Laura Messick (Keith), Millville, Grandchildren, Jessica Messick, Millville, Ashlea Yerkes (Caleb) and great-granddaughter Hannah, Millville, Kyle Messick (Kirstyn) Millville, siblings, Donald Marrolli (Etta), Upper Black Eddy, PA, Frank Young (Dody), Millville, Augustus Zimmerman Jr. (Carmen), Millville, David Zimmerman, Millville, Mark Zimmerman (Angie), Vineland, Dolores Suydam, Spring Hill, FL, Barbara Thomas, Rockwell, NC, Barbara Hanby, Millville, Darlene Shone (Daniel), Millville.
Funeral Services will be held at the Maranatha Baptist Church 1524 Bridgeton-Millville Pike Millville, NJ on Monday, December 21, 2020, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. In following state protocols and limited gatherings, please maintain distancing, and be mindful of other attendees wishing to pay their respects as well. Social distancing and face masks are required.
Burial will be in Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Township.
