Ismael Maestre Olivero, 85, of Vineland went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012.
He was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to Genaro Maestre and Georgina Olivero. He had six children from a previous marriage. In 1960 he moved to Vineland, where he has resided since. He married his beloved wife, Brunilda, in 1967. They had five children, Alfredo Velez, Elizabeth Maestre, Ismael Maestre Jr., Edwin Maestre and Hector Maestre. He had 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Ismael was employed at Progresso Foods for 30 years as a forklift driver until his retirement. He enjoyed baseball, playing dominoes and going out with his wife to many places.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Vineland Spanish Pentecostal Church Assembly of God, 512 S. 3rd St., Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, and again from 9 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
