John M. Manduke, 59, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, in South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton.
Born in Bridgeton, John has been a resident of Millville for most of his life. He graduated from Millville High School. John was a skilled carpenter, electrician and mason. He worked for Wheaton, Silverton Marine Corp., and ran his own home improvement and renovation business.
As a boy, John learned to play guitar at the age of 7. He had the amazing gift of being able to play a song after hearing it only once. This passion for music lasted his lifetime as he grew into an avid musician and skilled guitar player. John was happiest when he was playing guitar, singing or listening to music. He brought joy to many people by sharing his musical talents by performing in local bands in his younger years. John was well known when he performed with the band named "Within Reality". He also was a talented songwriter and had written a special song for his family titled "Dreams," which they will treasure forever.
John was the dedicated son of Sophie "Sue" Manduke, who passed away in 2010.
John is the beloved father of Melody Joy Mattison and Matthew Manduke; grandfather of Rebecca Mattison and brother of Mark Manduke of North Carolina, Valerie Marks of Deptford and the Very Rev. Nikolai (Joseph) Manduke of Millville.
There will be a viewing at from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening at Barr Funeral Home, 2104 E. Main St., Millville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 801 Carmel Road, Millville. Burial will follow in the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery.

John, myself,Ray Sibley & Timmy Melenick played together for years in a band called Light Head! John was a very respected & talented musician, we shared some really great times together. John I am glad I was able to say goodbye and got to say see you on the other side before you left us. May you now RIP my friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
