Joseph Leanzo Obituary
Vineland - Joseph A. Leanzo, 84, of Vineland, NJ passed away at home on Tuesday January 5, 2021. Joe was born & raised in Vineland where he remained a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Eleanor (Spencer) & Joseph B. Leanzo. Joe was pre deceased by his wife Minerva C. (Hocker) in 2011 as well as his daughter & son in-law, Annette & Dave Metcalf.
Joe was a graduate of Vineland High School class of 1954. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War from 1954-1957. After his military service he went to work at Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville where he was employed for 41 yrs. Joe loved to eat hot dogs and watch baseball & football. He was a former volunteer at the N.J. Veterans Memorial Home and was a former usher at St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church.
He is survived by his son; Joseph L. Leanzo, 3 granddaughters; LeAnne & Stephanie Metcalf and Yamilet Molina, Brother in-law; Anthony (Deborah) Hocker & their family.
Relatives & friends will be received and are asked to wear your favorite Phillie's attire on Monday 1/11 at 10:30 AM at the Divine Mercy Parish, 23 W. Chestnut Ave., Vineland, NJ where his Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated. Inurnment will follow in the Greenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the N.J.
