Robert F. Harris, 68, of Vineland passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at home.
Robert was born in Millville to the late Benjamin Franklin and Thelma Mae (Hess) Harris and was a Vineland resident for most of his life. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement, he was a care provider for the developmentally disabled, working for the state of New Jersey for over 30 years. Robert enjoyed fishing, woodworking and sharing time with his family. He had an excellent sense of humor.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Carol (Franco) Harris of Vineland; four daughters, Stacey Plummer of Millville, Jennifer Santiago and husband Tony of Vineland, Kristina Harris of Nashville, Tenn., and Jaime Geiser of Vineland; two stepdaughters, Christina Gleeson of Vineland and Susan Gleeson of Upper Deerfield; and nine grandchildren, Mary, Christopher, Devan, Kaitlyn, Ariel, Adam Jr., Addison, Marc Anthony and Thomas. Robert also is survived by his three brothers, Rick Harris and wife Arlene of N. Fort Myers, Fla., Albert Harris and wife Cat of Georgia, and John Harris of Galloway Township.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Robert's residence, 537 N. Second St., Vineland, with a meal to follow.
