Samuel Passaretti Sr., 71, of Bridgeton passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning May 17, 2016.

The husband of the late Constance L. "Connie" Passaretti (nee Graham), who died in 2010, Sam was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late John and Santa Livoti Passaretti. A lifelong Bridgeton resident, he lived at his current address for 30 years.

He was employed by the City of Bridgeton for 26 years as a foreman in the Bridgeton Sewer Department; retiring in 2006. During his retirement years, Sam worked at Bob Novick Auto Mall in Bridgeton as a "car concierge."

Sam was the Shop Steward for the Union in Bridgeton while he worked for the city. In addition, he was a member of the 5th Ward AA and a social member of the Meade-Woodward Post #1795 VFW, both in Bridgeton. He was also a member of the Italian - American Political Club and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2127 in Bridgeton. For many years he was a motorcycle enthusiast and remained a huge football fan all his life.

He is survived by two children, Crystal L. Cain (Bruce A.) and Samuel Passaretti Jr. (fiancé Jamie M. Dean) all of Bridgeton, an adopted son, Dean Gates of Bridgeton, eight grandchildren, Christopher J. Passaretti (fiancé Gia DeGregorio), Krysta Graff (Matthew), Harley Nicole Cain, Austin M. Ripa, Samantha N., Greg H. and Gage D. Passaretti and Chandler Dean and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Walter Graham Jr. "Uncle Junney" and was predeceased by a grandson, Cody Cain and a sister, Angelina Wandland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Friday morning May 20th at 11 o'clock where friends will be received from 9 until 11.

The burial will follow and take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp.
